Alcochem Responsibility Program

Since 2007 Alcochem has made Financial commitments to projects which are connected to the areas or markets in which Alcochem is active.

Alcochem has set up a few basic rules in which these commitments find their practical execution;

  • Projects are set up in co-operation with the partners in the subjected area, where a common contribution should secure the involvement and dedication from both sides. Projects are linked to People (labour conditions) and Planet (environmental conditions)
  • A protocol with all our production parties is signed in which no child labour is accepted in any way. This protocol will be controlled and monitored by our own local staff.
  • Apart from the nature of the projects mentioned above we dedicate a part of our budget to support programs that are connected to the well-being of children (our future generations).

Update April 2026

Since the beginning of March, Lebanon has been going through an extremely difficult and uncertain period. The ongoing conflict has forced many families to leave their homes, and the number of people in need is increasing every day.

A large number of displaced families are currently sheltering in government schools. In response, our local team is providing essential support to families in two schools near our branch. This includes distributing blankets, food, clothing, baby diapers, and other basic necessities.

In addition, we are supporting the local civil defense unit in our area by providing daily hot meals, helping those who are working tirelessly on the front lines of the crisis.

Our broader support efforts continue as well. We are delivering hot meals, medicines, and food packages to vulnerable families, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they urgently need.

Cooperatiekring Midden Nederland

Update May 2026

In the Netherlands, Alcochem supports projects of the Cooperatiekring Midden Nederland with the focus on opportunity and equality for children. Every child deserves the opportunity to develop in the most optimal way. More and more, background, home situation or finances play a determining role in the development of children and young people. With our donation we offer a better future perspective for all children, young people and young adults in the region of Central Netherlands.

The current projects;

‘Stichting Laat het licht aan’ supports children who struggle with mental wellbeing. Many young people suffer in silence, which is why the foundation opens up the conversation before it is too late through performances and educational materials.

‘Stichting Hapkracht’
Every child needs healthy nutrition and enough physical activity to learn and grow. Yet for many children, this is not something they can take for granted.
Stichting Hapkracht is committed to supporting these children in four focus neighborhoods in Utrecht. They help schools provide nutritious lunches, physical activity, and education about healthy eating.

‘Stichting ANDERS ’t Gooi’ helps families who are temporarily struggling by offering practical support at crucial moments. This may include assistance with school expenses, dental care, home renovations, or repairs to household appliances.

‘Zomerschool Nijkerk’ is dedicated to reducing educational disadvantages among children during the summer holidays. In a stimulating and safe environment, children work on language skills, mathematics, and self-confidence.

Prince of Peace Children’s home China

Update April 2026

With a vision not only to do business but to contribute to the future of our world, Alcochem will support the Prince of Peace Children’s home in Tianjin with supplies and materials needed for the children. The first donations of 2024 have been done this month. We have seen that the children are happy in the children’s house. The teachers pay more attention to hygiene and take the children with them every day to play.

Prince of Peace Children’s home provide a home for abandoned children who are disabled, like Down syndrome and cerebral palsy. In 2021 over 150 children live in the Prince of Peace Children’s home with more than 130 teachers and employees taking care of them.

In 1994 Kenneth Yeung established the Prince of Peace Foundation in the U.S., to help American families that wanted to adopt orphans in China. In 1999, he decided to finance an orphanage to be built in China, to foster disabled orphans aged from 0 to 6. After 6 years of preparation, under the cooperation of Prince of Peace Foundation and Civil Administration Bureau of the Wuqing District of Tianjin, the Prince of Peace Children’s Home was built. On July 12, 2004, with an area of 60,000 sq. ft. and a capacity to accommodate 100 children aged under 6, the Children’s Home was officially opened.

Cambodia

Update April 2026

Our Mission in Cambodia: Practical Help with Immediate Impact
Our mission in Cambodia is to provide practical support with direct impact. We are committed to helping vulnerable communities by offering concrete, everyday assistance where it is needed most. Every day, we see that help is needed—and that small, targeted actions can make a big difference.

Keeping the River Clean Together
Our weekly waste collection has become a great success. We provide collection services for around 30 families, preventing many tons of waste from being dumped into the Bassac River each year. This river flows into the South China Sea, meaning our local efforts contribute to a broader environmental impact.

By simply collecting waste properly, we protect not only the environment but also the health of the community.

Social Support
In addition to environmental projects, we provide direct financial and practical support to people in need. This includes contributions for:

-Funerals
-Medical operations
-Hospital visits
-Medication and dental care
-Basic necessities such as rice for families in poverty

This support often makes a crucial difference at times when people have nowhere else to turn.

Mobility and Dignity
When we learned there was a need for walking aids, we purchased 20 walking sticks and personally distributed them to those in need.
What may seem simple has a huge impact: greater independence, improved mobility, and above all, restored dignity.

An encounter that tells it all
‘While distributing the walking sticks, we came across a man with Down syndrome. He was trying to crawl across a busy road while bystanders watched without intervening.
We immediately stopped, blocked the traffic, and helped him safely to the side. He could barely see, was very small in stature, and could not walk. Using one of the walking sticks—perfectly suited to his height—we were able to support him until he could move independently again.
The man is homeless, and we still see him occasionally. He continues to use the walking stick. Later, we also gave him some clothes and a small amount of money.
It was a remarkable moment: on the very day we were distributing walking sticks, we happened to meet him. Sometimes, small actions come at exactly the right time.’
